Lions sweep Coosa Valley in doubleheader

The Kingwood Christian School softball team swept Coosa Valley in a high school softball doubleheader April 10.
The Lions defeated the Rebels 11-1 in the opener.
Kaylyn Ingram led Kingwood Christian offensively as she finished 2-for-2 at the plate with a pair of doubles. Ingram drove in two runs in the victory.
Katie McElroy also finished 2-for-2 at the plate. Karley Chamblee finished 2-for-4 at the plate.
Ingram earned the win in the circle after giving up just one earned run on two hits with three strikeouts and one walk in a complete-game victory.
Amy Holmes took the loss in the circle for Coosa Valley after giving up 11 runs, including six earned runs, on 10 hits with two strikeouts and three walks in a complete game.
Kingwood Christian topped Coosa Valley 14-8 in the nightcap.
Kaylee Morris led the Lions offensively as she finished 3-for-4 at the plate with a triple. Morris drove in two runs in the victory.
Chamblee finished 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in three runs. Ingram went 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in one run.
Madeline Lee finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a homer. Lee also earned the win in the circle after giving up eight runs, including three earned runs, on six hits with three strikeouts and five walks in a five-inning complete game.
Carlee Yarnell led Coosa Valley offensively as she finished 2-for-3 at the plate. Hannah Vick finished 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in three runs.
Yarnell took the loss in the circle after giving up six runs, including five earned runs, on four hits in three innings in relief.
