The Briarwood Christian School softball team edged Sylacauga 4-3 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A, Area 7 contest April 10.

Morgan Reed led the Lions offensively as she finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a pair of triples. Reed drove in two runs and scored two runs in the win.

Rachel Walz finished 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in two runs. Ashlyn Boyd, Madison Chambers and Natalie Kidd added one hit each in the victory.

Reed earned the win in the circle after giving up three unearned runs on four hits with 11 strikeouts and two walks in a complete-game victory.
