The Pelham High School baseball team edged Hoover 7-6 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 10 contest April 9.

Hunter Soleymani led the Panthers (30-1) offensively as he finished 2-for-3 at the plate. Soleymani drove in a pair of runs in the victory.

Fletcher Johnson finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a triple and scored one run.

Soleymani earned the win on the mound after giving up six earned runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and one walk in five innings.

Parker Curry earned the save after giving up just one hit and finishing with three strikeouts in two innings in relief.
