The Shelby County High School softball team defeated Montevallo 14-4 in high school softball action April 9.

The Wildcats jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after the first inning and cruised to victory.

Victoria Adams led the Wildcats with a three-run homer in the win. Ashlyn Blackerby added a two-run double.

Courtney Shields finished 4-for-5 at the plate with a double and drove in two runs.

Kaitlyn Paschall, who earned her 10th win of the season in the circle, pitched the first three innings. Jessica Carden closed out the game. Paschall and Carden combined for five strikeouts in the victory.

Mallory Anderson, Addie Edwards, McKenna Anderson and Megan Dockery led Montevallo with one hit each.

Anderson also drove in two runs.
