The Spain Park High School boys’ tennis team defeated rival Hoover 7-2 in high school tennis action April 9.
Jack Nicholas of Spain Park defeated Christian Lyerly of Hoover 10-2 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Will Hartsock of Spain Park defeated Hayden Clowers of Hoover 10-6 in the No. 2 singles’ match.
Brit Sovic of Spain Park fell to Avinash Ananth of Hoover 10-8 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Whalen Merrill of Spain Park defeated Ishant Yadar of Hoover 10-4 in the No. 4 singles’ match.
Baylor Cocke of Spain Park defeated Raj Patel of Hoover 10-3 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Sam Lorino of Spain Park fell to J.C. Nicholas of Hoover 10-7 in the No. 6 singles’ match.
Nicholas and Hartsock defeated Lyerly and Clowers 10-5 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Sovic and Merrill defeated White and Ananth 10-1 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.
Cocke and Lornio defeated Maynard and Patel 10-6 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
