The Thompson High School baseball team fell to Hoover 4-0 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 10 contest April 6, handing the Buccaneers a sweep of the regular season series.

Davis Cox led the Warriors offensively as he finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double.

Blake Grill finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a double.

Austin Sapp took the loss after giving up four runs, including three earned runs, on three hits with two strikeouts and seven walks in 5 2/3 innings.

Hunter Rigney allowed just two hits in 1 1/3 innings in relief.
