The Pelham High School softball team defeated Oak Mountain 6-1 in a tournament April 7 at Bob Jones High School.

Kristian Foster led the Panthers offensively as she finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a homer. Foster drove in three runs and scored two runs in the win.

Whitney Gillespie, wo drove in one run and scored one run, finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. Caitlyn Sapp, who drove in one run and scored one run, finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a double. Madi Walker finished 1-for-3 at the plate. Erin Whitman finished 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in one run. Becky Fox, who scored one run, finished 1-for-2 at the plate.

Gillespie earned the win in the circle after giving up one earned run on 11 hits with six strikeouts and one walk in a complete-game victory.

Maddie Porter led Oak Mountain offensively as she finished 3-for-3 at the plate.

Caroline Seitz, Leah Reeves, Ann Thomaston and Katherine Kimble added two hits each. Thomaston also drove in one run and scored one run.

Reeves took the loss in the circle after giving up six earned runs on eight hits with six strikeouts in a complete game.

Pelham finished 5-2 over the span of two days in the tournament.
