Cornerstone falls in region volleyball tournament

The Cornerstone Christian School volleyball team closed the 2010 season with a loss to Crenshaw Christian School in the Alabama Independent Schools Association Class 1A, Region 1 tournament Oct. 19 at Edgewood Academy.
The third-seeded Chargers lost to No. 2 seed Crenshaw Christian 24-26, 23-25, 20-25 in the AISA Class 1A, Region 1 semifinals.
Paige Paszak led Cornerstone with three kills, four service aces and four digs in the semifinal match.
Jana Armstrong added three kills and a block. Jaclyn Largin recorded a kill and three service aces.
Kailey Goodwin added two kills and a dig. Ashley Malone added a kill and two service aces.
Olivia Perry added one kill and one service ace.
Cornerstone defeated No. 6 seed Autauga Academy in the AISA Class 1A, Region 1 tournament quarterfinals Oct. 18 to advance to the semifinals. The Chargers won three games and dropped only one game in the win over Autauga Academy.
Goodwin led the Chargers with seven kills, nine service aces, one dig and one block. Malone chipped in a team-high 12 service aces to go along with three kills and three assists.
Pazsak added seven kills, six digs and five service aces. Armstrong recorded six kills, five digs and four service aces.
Largin added two kills, four service aces and a team-high six assists. Perry finished with two kills.
