The Pelham High School baseball team edged rival Thompson 2-1 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 10 contest March 31.

Parker Curry led the Panthers at the plate as he finished 3-for-4 with a double and drove in two runs.

Fletcher Johnson finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. Hunter Stovall went 2-for-2 at the plate and scored one run. Jackson Pruitt also scored one run.

Hunter Soleymani earned the win in relief after giving up one unearned run on one hit with three strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings in relief.

Thomas Lowery started on the mound and gave up one run on four hits with 10 strikeouts and two walks in 5 2/3 innings.

Trey Matherson led the Warriors offensively as he went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored one run.

Aron McRee took the loss after giving up one run on two hits with one strikeout and three walks in five innings.
