The Montevallo High School baseball team defeated Cordova 16-8 to capture its spring break tournament championship March 24.

Eric Smith led the Bulldogs (18-3) at the plate as he went 3-for-5 with a homer and a pair of doubles in the victory. Smith drove in six runs in the win.

Taylor Burr finished 3-for-5 at the plate with a pair of doubles and drove in two runs. Chase Hamrick finished 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of doubles and drove in two runs.

Trevor Chatham earned the win on the mound after giving up just one earned run on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks in four innings in relief.

Hamrick gave up seven runs, including two earned runs, on four hits with five strikeouts and two walks in three innings.
