Clara Blanche Austin, age 90, died peacefully on Sunday, March 25, 2012. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Bolton Funeral Home with her grandson, Rhett Austin officiating. Graveside service will follow at Old Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Wilsonville. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 28, 2012, from 1-2 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home.

She was the widow of William J. (Jack) Austin Sr. She was the daughter of Richard Joseph Gardner and Francis Moore Gardner. She is survived by three children, Mary Francis “Patsy” Smith (Jerry), William J. “Jackie” Austin Jr. (Linda Kay) and Rick J. Austin (Carol); 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Blanche was a lifelong resident of the Columbiana, Birmingham area. Blanche, known as “Mamaw” by everyone, was dearly loved. She undergirded and supported our family with love and laughter. We are thankful to have known and loved her; we will greatly miss her.
