The Thompson High School softball team defeated Oak Mountain 8-6 in high school softball action March 15.

Taylor Powell led the Warriors at the plate as she went 2-for-4 with a homerun and a double. Powell drove in two runs and scored one run in the victory.

Sarah Beth Holdbrooks, Jordan Swindle and Molly Jones each went 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in one run each.

Rachel Rigney earned the win in the circle after giving up four earned runs on five hits with two strikeouts and two walks in four innings.

Powell allowed two earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts and a walk in three innings.

Caroline Seitz led Oak Mountain at the plate as she finished 2-for-4 with two homers. Seitz drove in four runs.

Leah Reeve took the loss after giving up five runs, including three earned runs, on four hits with two strikeouts and a walk in four innings. Katherine Kimble allowed three earned runs on six hits with a strikeout in three innings.
