Eagles sweep Southside-Gadsden in doubleheader

The Oak Mountain High School baseball team swept Southside-Gadsden in a high school baseball doubleheader March 13.
The Eagles (12-3) defeated Southside-Gadsden 6-2 in the opener.
David Dahl led the Eagles as he finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a double. Dahl drove in one run and scored two runs in the victory.
Austin Howard and Sam Knotts each finished 1-for-2 at the plate. Howard drove in two runs, while Knotts drove in one run.
Justin Hoyt (4-1) earned the win on the mound after giving up two runs on three hits with two strikeouts and two walks in six innings.
Chandler Clower earned the save after striking out two batters in the final inning.
Oak Mountain edged Southside-Gadsden 6-5 in the nightcap.
Heath Quinn led the Eagles as he finished 4-for-5 at the plate. Quinn, who drove in three runs and scored one run, finished with two stolen bases in the victory.
Jay Thompson went 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in a run. Dahl finished 1-for-2 at the plate with a stolen base and a run scored.
Corey Price (2-0) earned the win on the mound after giving up three runs on five hits with a strikeout and three walks in two innings.
Clower earned the save after striking out one batter in the final inning.
