HOOVER — The Hoover Board of Education approved Dr. Ken Jarnagin as the new principal of Spain Park High School at a March 12 meeting.
Hoover Schools spokesperson Jason Gaston said Jarnagin has been serving as the school’s interim principal for the last week and a half after former principal Chris Shaw left to become the Hoover School System’s director of planning.
Gaston said March 13 marks Jarnagin’s first official day as principal.
Jarnagin joined Hoover City Schools in summer 2007 as the system’s chief academic officer. Since then, he has worked as the system fine arts director and Spain Park’s band director.
