The Briarwood Christian School baseball team defeated Sylacauga 11-1 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A, Area 7 contest March 9.

Ben Craft and Ethan Simmons led the Lions (9-3) at the plate with two hits each. Craft finished 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, while Simmons went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored.

Daniel Robert went 1-for-3 at the plate and scored two runs. Carter Tyra, who drove in two runs and scored one run, finished 1-for-2 at the plate with a double. Cole Pearson finished 1-for-2 at the plate and scored a run.

Matthew Furuto drove in one run. Tanner Cunningham scored two runs, while Will Dyson and Brayden Housel scored one run each.

Barnes Bankston earned the win on the mound after giving up just one unearned run on two hits with six strikeouts and two walks in a five-inning complete-game victory.
