Alarcon to speak at Indian Springs

Acclaimed author and Indian Springs School alumnus, Daniel Alarcón, will be the guest speaker at the school’s Fall Alumni Luncheon, to be held Friday, Oct. 22. Open to the public, the event will be held from noon-1:30 p.m. at Park Lane, located at 2117 Cahaba Road in Mountain Brook. A book signing will be part of the event.
A 1995 Indian Springs graduate, Alarcón is the author of Lost City Radio, named Best of Book of the Year in 2007 by the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune and other publications. His debut story collection, War by Candlelight, was a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Award in 2006.
