Margaret Bates, age 69, a resident of Columbiana, passed away on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 14, at Bolton Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Rev. Charlie Lloyd. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 10-11 a.m. at Bolton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bates is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Bates; and her son, Ray Bates. Mrs. Bates is survived by her children, Kendall Bates, Cathy Bates Williams (David), Carol Bates Tomlin (Al), Melissa Bates Zales (Steve), Tim Bates (Kelly); 14 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; brother, James William Pugh; sister, Jo Stamps and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
