High school volleyball roundup: Oak Mountain sweeps Shelby County, Curry

The Oak Mountain High School volleyball team swept Shelby County and host Curry in a doubleheader Aug. 30.
Samantha Skinner led Oak Mountain with six kills and four blocks in a 25-10, 25-14 win over Shelby County.
Chelsea Payne finished with a team-high 19 assists.
Skinner led the Eagles with six kills and six digs in a 25-13, 25-20 win over host Curry.
Sarah Goodwin added six kills and four digs. Payne finished with 15 assists, five digs and three service aces in the victory.
Kingwood tops Cornerstone
Casey Whitmer led the Lions with six kills and three service aces in a 18-25, 34-32, 25-18, 25-13 win over Cornerstone Christian.
Millie Opper added three kills and four aces. Karlee Chamblee recorded a team-high five aces and 19 assists.
Montevallo sweeps Jemison
Amber Cardwell led the Bulldogs with 17 kills in a 25-14, 25-21, 26-24 win over Jemison.
Mallory Anderson added seven kills. Anderson finished with a team-high 18 assists and 13 service aces.
Kathryn Ray recorded seven kills and nine assists.
