Gov. Bob Riley has awarded a $24,922 grant to purchase forensic science equipment for use in evidence collection by the Pelham Police Department.
“Careful collection of evidence is essential for successful prosecutions,” said Riley. “I am pleased to help Pelham’s police officers obtain equipment that will enable them to serve their residents more effectively.”
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is administering the grant from funds made available to the state by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Riley notified Pelham Mayor Don Murphy that the grant had been approved.
