The Pelham High School wrestling team defeated Northridge 54-12 in high school wrestling action Jan. 31.

Six Panthers won individual matches against Northridge.

Furman Taylor of Pelham pinned Benjamin Wright of Northridge in the 120-pound match. Giovanni Adan of Pelham pinned Nathan Cross of Northridge in the 132-pound match.

Stephen Janoulis of Pelham pinned Clint Hydrick of Northridge in the 145-pound match. Tre Maynard of Pelham pinned Aslami Harrison of Northridge in the 182-pound match.

John Brito-Cuevas of Pelham pinned John Ross Morton of Northridge in the 195-pound match. Kenny Hoover of Pelham won his heavyweight match against Jon Peterson of Northridge by disqualification.

Two Pelham wrestlers won individual matches in a battle with Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa.

Hoover pinned Chris Leslie of Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa in 1:34 in the heavyweight match. Adan won his 126-pound match by forfeit.
