Produce from Indian Springs School’s Fertile Minds Learning Garden is on sale at the Pepper Place Saturday Market in Birmingham each Saturday through mid-August. The produce will be sold from 7 a.m.-noon. Produce on sale includes various types of peppers, eggplant, okra, tomatoes, garlic, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, Swiss chard and cut flowers, all grown by Springs students and faculty in the Fertile Minds Learning Garden, the school’s organic garden and outdoor learning laboratory. Proceeds from the produce help meet garden expenses such as seeds and compensation for summer student workers. The Pepper Place Saturday Market is located on Second Avenue South between 28th and 29th Streets in Birmingham.
