A Calera volunteer group will hold its first clothing giveaway of the year March 6 at the Calera Community Center.

The Acts of Kindness volunteer group will be giving away clothing and shoes of all sizes at the event, which is open to everyone.

The event will be the fifth giveaway sponsored by the volunteer group, but is the first spring giveaway Acts of Kindness has sponsored.

In October 2009, the group donated clothing to more than 600 people who otherwise may not have been able to afford it, said event organizer Rebecca Krueger.
