The Hoover City Schools system has partnered with Discovery Education to help bring digital content into Hoover classrooms during the new school year.
Discovery Education is a division of Discovery Communications, which owns the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and the Science Channel.
The digital content will include more than 150,000 videos, photos, songs and reading passages, among other items.
Hoover Superintendent Andy Craig said in a press release the partnership would help provide students with new opportunities to learn.
“The combination of high-quality educational technologies and digital content from Discovery Education we’ve implemented across the district helps us meet this mission and achieve our vision of creating lifelong learners who can thrive in our rapidly changing and increasingly global world,” he said.
The partnership will also allow Hoover teachers and administrators to participate in technology training sessions and will provide access to a resource library.
