The Kingwood Christian School boys’ basketball team fell to Pike Liberal Arts Academy 72-64 in high school basketball action Jan. 14.

Andrew Whitfield led the Lions (6-11) with 18 points.

Josh Purvis added 17 points. Jacob Bussey chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds.

Daniel Fillingim recorded a double-double with 10 points and a team-high 19 rebounds. Jared Stewart contributed six points. Jordan Vance finished with two points.

GIRLS

The Kingwood Christian School girls’ basketball team fell to Pike Liberal Arts Academy 40-23 in high school basketball action Jan. 14.

Blair Holsombeck led the Lions (4-13) with 11 points.

Katie Etheridge added eight points and a team-high seven rebounds. Madelyn Pearce contributed three points and three rebounds.

Casey Whitmer contributed one point and five rebounds. Kenzie Greer finished with five rebounds.
