Funeral service for Jack Johnston, age 89, of Shelby, was held Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Bolton-Letlow Chapel. Burial will follow at Bay Springs Cemetery.
Visitation was Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton-Letlow Chapel.
Mr. Johnston, who passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2008 at a local hospital, was born on April 1, 1919 in Hanceville, Ala.
Mr. Johnson was a Master Sergeant with the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater during WW II. He earned the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal with two bronze stars.
He retired from Capital Automotive in Atlanta, Ga.
He is survived by his wife, Blonnie Johnston and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
