The Chelsea High School girls’ basketball team defeated Talladega 56-43 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A, Area 7 contest Jan. 10.

Amanda Mock led the Hornets (8-10 overall, 2-2 in Class 5A, Area 7) with a game-high 27 points. Mock also grabbed a team-high 18 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

Perri Lambert flirted with a triple-double after registering nine points, nine rebounds and a team-high 12 assists.

BOYS

The Chelsea High School boys’ basketball team fell to Talladega 66-59 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A, Area 7 contest Jan. 10.

D.D. Washington led the Hornets (8-11 overall, 2-2 in Class 5A, Area 7) with a game-high 24 points. Washington also grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

Brody Holder added 12 points.
