Anna Lee Frost
Mrs. Anna Frost went to her heavenly home June 3, 2009, at the age of 100. Mrs. Frost was born in Shelby County on Jan. 1, 1909 to Henry L. and Johnnie H. Johnson. She was married to Nathan Thomas Frost from Oct. 17, 1936, until his death in 1971.
As a lifelong and devoted member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Montevallo, Mrs. Frost enjoyed teaching preschool children and young adult Sunday school classes. She was a charter member of Ebenezer United Methodist Women and continued active participation for many years. In 1978, Mrs. Frost gifted the church with a memorial steeple in honor of her husband, Nathan Thomas Frost. Mrs. Frost was an active member of the Shelby County Home Demonstration Club, as well as the Calera Senior Citizens organization.
Although Mrs. Frost and her husband did not have children of their own, through the years they had a multitude of extended children as they inspired and provided activities for many area youth and young adults, such as picnics, get-to-gathers and “Winnie” roasts. Mrs. Frost and her husband will always be fondly remembered by those they took under their wings.
Frost is survived by loving nieces, Betty Cupp and Billie Spain; devoted nephew, Jimmy Spain; four great-nieces, Diane (T. Wayne) Smith, Robin (John) Williams, Cheryl (Roger) Burnette, Susan Moore; great-nephew, David (Debbie) Cupp and many great-great nieces and nephews as well as two great-great-great nieces and one great-great-great nephew.
Pallbearers will be Roger Burnette, John Williams, Brad Williams, Alan Williams, Mark Smith, Alton Smith and Chace Burnette. Honorary pallbearers are David Cupp and T. Wayne Smith.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 5, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. at Rocko Funeral Home in Montevallo. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Montevallo. Burial will follow in Moores Cemetery in Montevallo.
