A local insurance agent recently celebrated the completion of a new retail development off U.S. 280, and is looking for tenants to fill the center.

Scott Weygand, a Farmers Insurance agent, recently moved his office into the 10,000-square-foot development on Chesser Park Drive. The development also houses Chelsea Chiropractic.

Weygand and his father began constructing the center in August 2009, and chose the location because of its ease-of-access and visibility from U.S. 280, he said.

“We started building it last August, and we moved in on March 1,” Weygand said. “We definitely like it. It’s a great location, has great visibility and the rent here is less than it is in some of the other areas around here.”

Because 7,800 square feet of the development is still vacant, Weygand is looking for business owners interested in leasing the remaining space.

“One end of the parking lot is already set up to accommodate a drive-through window, whether it’s a restaurant, pharmacy or other business,” Weygand said. “It’s still wide open right now, and we are looking for tenants.
