The Coosa Valley Academy boys’ basketball team defeated Chambers Academy 59-52 in an Alabama Independent Schools Association Class 1A, Area 1 contest Jan. 3.

Hunter Winslett led the Rebels (3-13 overall, 1-1 in Class 1A, Area 1) with 20 points in the victory. Winslett also dished out six assists and recorded five steals.

Adam Logan added 11 points and handed out a team-high eight assists. Adam McCranie contributed 10 points and six rebounds in the win.

GIRLS

The Coosa Valley Academy girls’ basketball team defeated Chambers Academy 44-41 in an Alabama Independent Schools Association Class 1A, Area 1 contest Jan. 3.

Lauren Archer led the Rebels (10-5 overall, 1-0 in Class 1A, Area 1) with 20 points in the victory. Archer also registered a team-high five blocks.

Kaylan Rich posted a double-double with 11 points and a team-high 13 rebounds in the win.
