Columbiana hit by EF0 tornado

Columbiana – Two homes were damaged and nearly 50 trees were uprooted when an EF0 tornado hit downtown Columbiana around 1:40 p.m. on Dec. 22.
According to Jody Aaron, a meteorologist with The National Weather Service in Calera, the tornado touched down along Shelby County 47 and moved northeast for about 1.8 miles before ascending at Alabama 25.
The tornado produced winds from 70 to 80 miles per hour and had a maximum width of 150 yards.
Aaron confirmed that there were no injuries.
