Churches holding weekend of services

With one of the holiest days in the Christian religion falling on a Sunday this year, many Pelham and Alabaster churches are holding Christmas services and celebrations throughout the holiday weekend.
Westwood Baptist church, which is located on Alabaster Boulevard behind the Colonial Promenade shopping center, is holding a Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m., and is holding its Christmas Day worship services at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Kingwood Church, located off Industrial Road, will not be holding an evening service on Christmas Day, and will instead hold a combined worship service at 10:45 a.m.
Evangel Presbyterian Church off Thompson Road will hold a Christmas Eve communion service at 5 p.m., and will hold a Christmas Day worship service at 10:45 a.m. Evangel will not hold an early service or Sunday school on Christmas Day.
The First Baptist Church of Alabaster off Shelby County 95 will have a Christmas Eve service and silent Lord’s Supper at 5 p.m., and will hold its Christmas Day services at 9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. First Baptist will not hold Sunday school or evening services on Christmas Day.
The First United Methodist Church of Alabaster off Alabama 119 will hold a family and kid-friendly Christmas Eve worship service at Restore at 3 p.m., and will hold a Christmas Eve bluegrass service at Restore at 7 p.m.
FUMC will also hold a Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m. in the church sanctuary, and will hold a Christmas Day service in the sanctuary at 11 a.m.
The Healing Waters Church at 114 Longview Circle will not hold services on Dec. 25, but will hold a full church service on Dec. 28.
The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit on Kent Dairy Road will hold its Christmas Eve service at 5:30 p.m., and will hold its Christmas Day service at 10:30 p.m.
The Elliottsville Church of Christ will hold a Christmas Day service at 10:30 a.m., Bible class at 9:30 a.m. and an evening service at 5 p.m.
The Alabaster Church of God at 530 First Ave. W. will hold a Christmas Day communion at 10 a.m.
Unity Christian Center at 804 Highway 31 S. will hold a Christmas service at 10:45 a.m.
The First Presbyterian Church of Alabaster, which is at 8828 Alabama 119, will hold a Christmas Eve worship service at 6:30 p.m., and will hold a Christmas Day service at 10:30 a.m.
Crosscreek Baptist Church in Pelham’s Crosscreek neighborhood will hold a Christmas Eve candlelight service and Lord’s Supper at 6 p.m., and will hold a Moravian love feast, including sweet rolls and coffee, at 10 a.m. on Christmas Day.
The First Baptist Church of Pelham off U.S. 31 will hold a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 4 p.m., and will hold Christmas Day services at 8 a.m., 9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
Lakeview, Pelham’s First United Methodist Church, will hold its Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. and will hold its Christmas Day service at 10:30 a.m.
The Safe Harbor Church will hold its Christmas service on Friday, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. at Grace Crossing Church.
The Life Church at 1449 Court Place is holding a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m.
Sun View Baptist Church, at 2200 Shelby County 33, will hold Christmas Day worship services at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Oak Mountain Community Church, at 3135 Oak Mountain State Park Road, will hold a Christmas Day candlelight service at 11 a.m.
Oak Mountain Church of Christ, also on Oak Mountain State Park Road, will hold Christmas Day services at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Oak Mountain Independent Church, which is at 1475 Shelby County 35, is holding a Christmas Day service at 10 a.m.
