Football All-Stars named

Shelby County High School’s Geoff Walters will be the only coach from Shelby County coaching in the North-South football game during Alabama All-Star Sports Week, July 14-19.
Walters was named as an assistant coach for the North Squad last week.
This event will include in-state all-star games in volleyball, girls and boys basketball, football, baseball, fast pitch softball and soccer along with clinics and sessions for coaches, officials and athletic directors, a product exposition and other related activities.
Other teams will be announced at a later date.
Head coach for the North football team is Perry Swindall of Russellville High School.
Swindall guided the Golden Tigers to a 14-1 record in 2002 and finished state runner-up.
His assistants are Walters, Andre Robinson of Parker, Roland Houston of Weaver, Steve Smith of Cedar Bluff, Bob Godsey of Brooks and Michael Smith of Hartselle.
