A Wilsonville man died last Wednesday when a fire heavily damaged his singlewide mobile home, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s office.

Bobby Ray Boyd, 48, of 535 Valentine Circle was found dead at around 4 a.m. when the Wilsonville firefighters and Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported structure fire at the residence.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire but unable to rescue Boyd, whose body was discovered on the living room floor, officials said.

The incident remains under investigation by local agencies and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office.

Local officials said they do not expect foul play
