Oak Mountain High School lockdown lifted

NORTH SHELBY – The lockdown of Oak Mountain High School has been lifted, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
The school has been locked down since 1 p.m. today “in response to a rumor that had been circulated on campus,” the release stated.
“Shelby County Sheriff’s Office deputies were on scene immediately, and as a precaution the school implemented its lockdown procedure,” the release continued. “Deputies remained on scene and fully investigated the incident. Deputies reported no incident had occurred and all students, faculty and staff were safe. Students at Oak Mountain High will be released at normal dismissal time.”
