Teeing off for the symphony

The Greystone Symphony Committee wants area golfers to bring out their clubs for a good cause.
The committee plans to host a golf tournament on the Founders Course Friday, April 2. The course was once home to the Bruno’s Golf Memorial Classic. The format for this tournament will be a two–person Texas scramble with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
A silent auction before the tee–off will include items such as a football signed by Auburn coach Gene Chizik, plus a “Day with Paul Finebaum” on his sportstalk radio show.
There will also be “Beat the Pro” and “Hit the Green” contests. Lunch is provided as part of the $100 per person entry fee. Half of that fee will go to benefit the effort to bring the Alabama Symphony Orchestra out to the Greystone community for a free June 19 concert.
To register for the tournament, call the golf shop at Greystone at 986-5126.
Organizers are still seeking Title Sponsors for the Symphony on the Green event.
Current Title Sponsors include NettWorth Financial Group, American Plant Services and Janice Folmar & Richard Hayes, two realtors who specialize in Greystone residential property, Mr. and Mrs. Don Capps and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Sheehan.
