The Thompson High School wrestling team defeated Hoover and St. Clair County in a pair of wrestling matches Dec. 6.

The Warriors defeated Hoover 48-25. Eight Thompson wrestlers won individual matches against the Bucs.

Dominic Latona of Thompson pinned Serafin Achurra of Hoover in the 106-pound match. Josh Gillaspie of Thompson pinned Matthew Achurra of Hoover in the 160-pound match.

Jesse Masters of Thompson pinned Alec Shunnarah of Hoover in the 182-pound match. Clay Anthony, Jaden Hunter, Brian Mwai, Kolby Newton and Jake Rakestraw of Hoover each won matches by forfeit.

Thompson defeated St. Clair County 56-18. Ten Warriors won individual matches against St. Clair County, including Austin Gould, Reed Jacks, Mario Haynes, Luis Munoz, Jacob Mayhall, Christopher Lloyd, John Austin (J.A.) Jones, Cahman Holder, David Capers and Rakestraw.
