The Briarwood Christian School girls’ basketball team defeated Hueytown 55-22 in high school basketball action Dec. 3.

Cara Medders led the Lions (3-1) with a game-high 15 points in the victory.

Abbie Cutcliffe chipped in 14 points in the win.

BOYS

The Briarwood Christian School boys’ basketball team fell to Hueytown 56-52 in high school basketball action Dec. 3.

Jason Laatsch led the Lions (2-4) with a game-high 22 points. Laatsch, who signed a men’s basketball scholarship with the University of West Florida last month, surpassed the 1,000 career point mark in the loss.

Laatsch now has 1,021 points in his career.
