Harpersville Police recovered more than $11,000 in cash, stolen goods, a weapon and marijuana on Friday as a result of the search of a home in the Creswell community.

According to Harpersville Police, the search of the residence of Michelle Yowe, 41, of 340 Bridle Trail in the Creswell community of Harpersville, was conducted in the early morning hours of Jan. 14 with the assistance of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

According to police, the search warrant was the conclusion of several months of investigations conducted by the Harpersville Police Department. And police said the warrant uncovered a ring of home and vehicle burglaries throughout the city of Harpersville and Shelby County.

Harpersville Police said stolen items included video games, TVs, CDs, construction equipment, firearms, illegal narcotics and U.S. currency totaling $11,500.

Harpersville Police Chief Paul Brasher said, &uot;This is the result of good law enforcement&uot; by his staff and &uot;also shows that the city of Harpersville will not tolerate stealing from our citizens.&uot;

Sgt. Scott Baggett of the Harpersville Police Department said stolen items were valued at about $29,000 and narcotics at about $500.

He said, &uot;You normally have cash or drugs. This time we got both.&uot;

Other participating in the search were Capt. Leonard Griffin, Officer B.J. Keller, Lt. Cleon Williams, Officer Jeremy Brooks, Chief Brasher, Shelby County Sheriff Chris Curry and his staff.

Griffin handles investigations and Baggett is the narcotics officer for the Harpersville Police Department.

Griffin said a recovered weapon was stolen from Talladega County in December. And he said DVDs were stolen from a house in Harpersville the previous Tuesday.

Baggett said the Harpersville Police Department is seeking the owners of the stolen items.

He also said, &uot;There are a lot of good people who live around here that don’t want this stuff going on in Creswell.&uot;

Griffin said arrested and charged with felony receiving stolen property were Joey Parker, 24, of Harpersville; Kristy Bradford, 21, of Birmingham; Yowe, 41, of Harpersville; Glen Campbell, 42, of Vincent; and a juvenile.

He said two others are also pending arrests.

At presstime, Parker, Bradford, Yowe and Campbell were discharged from the Shelby County Jail
