Former Thompson High School football standout Marcus Edwards, a junior at Tennessee Tech University, was recently named to the All-Ohio Valley Conference first team.

Edwards ranked third in the Ohio Valley Conference with five sacks, while also adding 39 tackles.

The 6-foot-1, 245-pound linebacker was named the Ohio Valley Conference and NCAA Division II national Defensive Player of the Week once during his sophomore season.

Edwards finished his career at Thompson with 530 total tackles and 20 quarterback sacks, while also forcing 10 fumbles.
