The group was among 96 student-athletes from the state of Alabama selected as Bryant-Jordan regional award winners. A candidate in each of the achievement and scholar-athlete award categories will be selected as overall winners at the 25th annual Bryant-Jordan Awards banquet April 5 at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel Ballroom.
All 96 students will be recognized at the banquet and 12 classification winners will also be announced.
The Bryant-Jordan Student-Athlete program was created in 1986 by the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in conjunction with the AHSAA.
The initial scholarship offered by the Bryant-Jordan program was the scholar-athlete scholarship. In 1989, the achievement award was created. The achievement award is designed to reward the student-athlete who achieves beyond his or her ability both academically and athletically, or who may have overcome some obstacle or hardship to achieve success.
