The Kingwood Christian School boys’ basketball team defeated Meadowview Christian School 97-54 in its season opener Nov. 10.

Junior Daniel Fillingim led the Lions (1-0) with 29 points in the victory. Fillingim also recorded a double-double in the game with 12 rebounds.

Senior Jordan Vance chipped in 21 points. Junior Andrew Whitfield finished with 15 points and six rebounds in the win.

The Kingwood Christian junior varsity team defeated Meadowview Christian 54-37.

Jon Filling led the Lions with 17 points. Tyler Harrell added 16 points. Logan Dean finished with 10 points.

GIRLS

Kingwood Christian School edged Meadowview Christian 32-30 in its season opener Nov. 10.

Freshman Katie Allen Etheridge led the Lions (1-0) with 10 points. Etheridge also grabbed a team-high 16 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

Madelyn Pearce added eight points and nine rebounds.

Juniors Casey Whitmer, who had 14 rebounds and Blair Holsombeck chipped in seven points each.
