Montevallo Police arrested 33-year-old Kenneth Howard Pickett within seven hours of an attempted robbery at Blockbuster Video and the robbery of a wallet from an individual in Montevallo last Wednesday.

Mark Allred of the Montevallo Police Department said Pickett attempted to take money from a cash register at Blockbuster Video at about noon on March 15.

About 30 minutes later, Allred said, Pickett attempted to strong-arm a male victim at Hardee&8217;s and take his wallet.

Some seven hours later, Allred said, an investigation led to warrants and the arrest of Pickett at one of his latest residences, 31 Clover Lane in Montevallo.

Allred said Pickett was charged with robbery and attempted robbery and was placed in the Shelby County Jail on $6,000 bond.

At presstime, Pickett remained in the Shelby County Jail
