The battle over a methadone clinic in Saginaw continues.
Robert White of the Northwest Alabama Treatment Center in Bessemer claims Susan Staats-Sidwell, owner and operator of the Saginaw drug clinic, violated corporate doctrine law of the state of Alabama.
White said Staats-Sidwell was an officer, director and owner of the Northwest Alabama Treatment Center in Bessemer.
He claimed when she and Dr. Glen Archibald filed for a certificate of need for a methadone clinic to be placed in Shelby County, Sidwell was authorized to file on behalf of the Bessemer drug clinic.
Instead, White said, Staats-Sidwell filed for herself and Archibald.
In response to the allegations, Staats-Sidwell said White used the same information he accused her of stealing to attempt to open his own methadone clinic in Alabaster.
&8220;He&8217;s doing anything he can to hurt me and this clinic (Shelby County Treatment Center),&8221; she said.
She also said she is still an owner of the Northwest Alabama Treatment Center and this is the same suit White filed against her in Shelby County Circuit Court once before.
Staats-Sidwell&8217;s attorney David Belser agreed that the claims are the same as those filed a year ago.
He said at that time, there was a hearing and the judge denied a request for an injunction.
This time, White is seeking an injunction to stop Staats-Sidwell and Archibald from operating the clinic, which began treating patients in December.
White is also seeking the establishment of a trust fund to hold profits of the clinic until the lawsuit is decided.
White said he was told the case was set for May 13 in Jefferson County before Circuit Court Judge Dan King, but Belser said no court date had been set
