Church focus: First Baptist Church of Columbiana

First Baptist Church of Columbiana is spreading its influence outside of Shelby County, Alabama and the United States.

The church currently has a mission team, led by senior pastor Mike Miller, in Senegal, Africa. First Baptist also has a trip scheduled for Kentucky in June.

On the home front, FBCC offers plenty for its members and the community to enjoy.

The church held a Jellybean Jamboree on Saturday at Elvin Hill Elementary School. First Baptist regularly offers children&8217;s choirs and mission groups on Sundays and a Kids Klub on Wednesday nights.

The church offers Bible studies on Wednesday&8217;s at 6:30 p.m. for adults and a senior adults ministry on Monday&8217;s at 1 p.m. FBCC also takes regular trips to local nursing homes and has a monthly fellowship outing for senior adults.

The church&8217;s sanctuary choir and drama team will present &8220;More than just a man&8221;, a telling of the Easter story, on April 15 and 16 at 7 p.m.

FBCC also offers the Columbiana Baptist Kindergarten for children in second through fifth grade.

First Baptist is a member of the Shelby Baptist Association and participates in all of its community outreach programs.
