Softball results: BCS downs Pratville in 10 innings

It took a little extra time Saturday, but in the end, the Briarwood Christian Lady Lions emerged victorious over Pratville 4-2 in a 10-inning thriller.

Haley Craddock hit a double in the 10th inning that allowed two runs to score to give BCS the win.

Briarwood got on the board early in the game, taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning off RBIs by Allie Looney and Dandi Ammons.

Pratville responded, however, tying the game 2-2 in the

third. The teams played the next six innings to a tie before Craddock blew the game open for the win.

Susannah Lamon earned the win for BCS, pitching a complete game, striking out eight batters and allowing four hits.

Montevallo takes two from Calera: The Montevallo Lady Bulldogs won both games of a doubleheader against Calera on Saturday 6-1 and 5-3.

Cloe Jones and Maeghen Pickett pitched well for Montevallo in the wins.

Hoover 6, Thompson 0: The Hoover Lady Bucs shut out the Thompson Lady Warriors on Saturday 6-0.

Hoover pitcher Jessie Lupardus struck out 17 batters and retied all but one in the game for the Bucs.

Bessemer Academy 10, Cornerstone Christian 1: Bessemer Academy handed the Cornerstone Christian Lady Chargers a tough loss on Saturday 10-1.

Bessemer pitcher Kayla Tatum struck out seven batters over four innings to seal the win.

Bessemer Academy 16, Coosa Valley 0: The Coosa Valley Lady Rebels fell victim to a perfect game from Bessemer Academy&8217;s Kelsey Dennis on Saturday, losing 16-0.

Dennis threw only 45 pitches to earn the perfect game
