Since its inception, SafeHouse Shelby County has focused on one basic mission:

to help women and children in need.

SafeHouse has done that and more by offering temporary and emergency housing, community outreach services, counseling and a caring hand to women and children in very hard and difficult circumstances. They have helped salvage lives and mend hearts.

But SafeHouse cannot accomplish its mission without the generosity others. Many individuals and organizations have offered both financial and other forms of support over the years.

And they are each helping make a difference in the lives of others.

Caroline Jackson heard the call to help SafeHouse in the late ninties and has answered it time and again.

To recognize the significant contributions and assistance Mrs. Jackson and her family have made to help support and further the SafeHouse mission, the new Center for Women and Children on the SafeHouse campus will be named in her honor.

With the completion of the new center, Mrs. Jackson, her family and many other groups and individuals will have helped yet unknown individuals for decades to come.

Shelby County is a wonderful place to call home but there is still a dramatic need for a place someone can to turn when there is nowhere else to go.

SafeHouse is in the midst of a campaign raising money to build a comprehensive campus enhancing their ability to serve more families in need.

Some $2 million dollars has been raised toward a goal of $3.5 million.
