Funeral service for Phillip E. Howell, 37, of Columbiana, was May 2, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Columbiana.

Burial followed at Columbiana City Cemetery.

Howell died Saturday, April 29, 2006, at home. He was born Oct. 17, 1968, in Clanton and was a sergeant with the Columbiana Police Department.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Jones Howell.

He is survived by his wife, Samantha Howell; sons, Ethan and Clay Howell; his father, James Howell; his sister, Rachel Martin; his mother-in-law, Myra Kimbro, in-laws, Sue Kimbro, Joan and J.D. Stinson and Walter Martin; his nephews, Jared, Lance and Wade Martin; his aunts, Bobbie Faye Hunt, Martha Carden, Catherine Cottrell, Lucy Jones and Audrey Jones; his cousin, Allen Barnes; and many others.
