UM pitcher named NCBW All-American

Montevallo sophomore pitcher Zach Andrews has been named to the First Team of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers&8217; All-American Team.

Andrews was the only relief pitcher and sole member of the Gulf South Conference named to the First Team.

The Hartselle native ended the 2006 season with a 6-1 record and 2.53 ERA. Andrews also set a new school single-season record for saves with 11.

Earlier in the season, he was named a Second Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association
