First Presbyterian Church in Alabaster (Cumberland) has one motto: &8220;Welcome to our open house.&8221;

Pastor Mark Davenport said anyone is invited to take part in the traditional style worship services.

&8220;We are very accepting of all people. Anyone is welcome, comfortable and finds a place here,&8221; said Pastor Mark Davenport of his 200 member congregation.

First Presbyterian has reached out to the community by volunteering for SafeHouse, the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, Shelby Emergency Assistance and Habitat for Humanity. Youth members also work at Jimmy Hale Missions.

&8220;The hallmark of our congregation is our deep understanding of Christian community as family,&8221; said Davenport. &8220;We are very involved in each other&8217;s lives.&8221;

The church is located on Hwy 119 near Publix and Fulton Springs Road.
