Students named highest sellers

An Elvin Hill Elementary student is the top seller for the Greater Shelby County Education Foundation &8220;Coupons For Classrooms&8221; 2006 campaign.
According to Carol Bruser, executive director of the GSCEF, Ashland Blakenship sold 151 books to take first place. And second place went to Makayla Hill of Oak Mountain Elementary.
Hill also won a Walt Disney World vacation package for four. According to Bruser, fund-raising events for the GSCEF include the Crystal Gala, a golf tournament and &8220;Coupons For Classrooms.&8221;
She reported the 2006 campaign netted more than $123,000 for public schools and $21,000 for the Teacher Mini-Grant program.
